| Course-based writing tutoring for your Winter class |

Would your students benefit from having small group tutoring to help them with a
writing assignment? If so, apply to participate in the new Writing Across the
Curriculum's small group writing tutorials program.
The program is free: no charge to your department and no cost to your
students.
What we provide

A 50 min. introduction to your writing assignment in your class
-
3-5 optional small group tutoring sessions for up to 12 students per session
Our experience has been that between 20-25% of a class will attend the group
sessions
What we need from you
- One hour of class time to review the assignment and
teach students about successfull writing strategies
- The course syllabus and the writing assignments
students will create
How to apply
Email Roger Graves, Director of Writing Across the Curriculum at
roger.graves@ualberta.ca
In your email, identify
- the course name and number
- expected enrollment
- due date for the writing assignment
- a description of the writing assignment
- course lecture times/days of the week
Evaluation of requests
We will seek to accommodate as many requests as we can; we anticipate being able
to provide tutoring for up to 20 courses. Requests will be evaluated on the
basis of how soon they were submitted and our ability to schedule the tutoring
sessions.
